Overview
This course allows students who didn't manage to secure a place on a course in August a chance to join a group and work in a trade area that suits their specific requirements. It will provide students with a range of skills, industry-recognised qualifications, and certificates that will assist them in the pursuit of a construction-related apprenticeship.
This course focuses on Floor & Wall Tiling for the remainder of the academic year, studying for a City and Guilds qualification.
Entry
Along with general experience of mature students, National 4 qualifications in Construction or similar technical disciplines would be a considerable advantage to prospective students. Applicants must be 16 years old to commence this course without exception.

* Level 1 Certificate in Construction Skills (Floor & Wall Tiling)
The course is predominantly practical-based in workshop and project areas and includes one-half day of classroom work each week. Students will be expected to engage with and complete mandatory theory elements.
Engagement with employers through extended work placements may be available for students; you must show a genuine desire to enter the industry to be considered.
