Our client, a key player in the oil and gas sector, is presently looking for a Principal Civil / Structural Engineer to join their team on a contract basis based in Manchester. This role is pivotal, requiring you to lead projects, represent the civil and structural engineering discipline to clients, and coordinate and manage teams to ensure delivery aligns with quality, programme, and budget standards. You will offer specialist civil and structural support across a variety of projects in multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Production of high-quality civil and structural engineering deliverables in a timely and cost-effective manner
* Lead projects from a technical perspective, ensuring the required technical quality of work
* Effective communication with other disciplines and construction teams
* Confidently and authoritatively communicate with clients
* Challenge existing processes to deliver value engineering solutions
* Lead, support, and mentor team members
* Assist in developing the knowledge and skills of the Civil and Structural team, including training and technical development of engineers
* Opportunity to progress into a leadership role within the Civil & Structural Engineering team, including management and business development responsibilities
Job Requirements
* Minimum MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Chartered status with a relevant professional body
* Experience in the full cycle of project design delivery, from inception to detailed design
* Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and providing technical guidance to Graduate Engineers and technicians
* Excellent communication skills
