About the Role
We are on the lookout for multi-skilled or electrically biased Maintenance Technicians to join our Engineering Team at the Portbury production facility in Bristol. Here, we create flavor blends for some of the world's best-loved brands, precisely measuring, mixing, and packaging hundreds of tonnes of product each week.
This is a permanent position with a flexible 3 or 4 shift pattern – AM/PM/Nights/Days.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
* Adhere to health and safety policies and regulations.
* Resolve breakdowns, perform preventative maintenance, and work on improvement projects to minimize production downtime.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to minimize risks effectively.
* Lock off dangerous machinery immediately or repair and notify as necessary.
* Proactively undertake preventative maintenance on offline machinery when time allows.
* Complete PM sheets with observations, jobs completed, and recommendations, filing them with the Maintenance Planner.
* Gather information from production personnel to expedite fault-finding processes.
* Ensure engineering logs and computer systems are updated with relevant information at the end of each shift.
* Communicate professionally with external parties, reflecting the company’s values.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
To thrive in this role, we seek candidates with the right behaviors and competencies, along with a proven track record in a similar position. The ideal candidate will possess:
* HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprenticeship with appropriate electrical engineering qualifications.
* Experience in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment; experience in any manufacturing setting is also highly desirable.
* Electrical bias or multi-skilled capabilities; PLC experience is a plus.
* Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is highly desirable.
* A flexible approach and a positive 'can-do' attitude.
* Experience with SAP is a plus.
