What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Health And Safety Manager REF: Warwick 5274824 Pay rate: £24.23 per hour PAYE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 3 to 4 months Working Arrangement: Not confirmed The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Health and Safety Manager for approximately 3 to 4 months to lead on the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Council’s Health and Safety policies in relation to facilities management. Key Responsibilities may include: Provide professional advice and support to managers, staff, and contractors on all health and safety matters. Carry out audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring full compliance with legislation and council policies. Oversee incident investigations, ensuring lessons learned are embedded across services. Manage statutory compliance programmes, including fire safety, asbestos, water hygiene, and other building-related risks. Deliver training and awareness programmes to promote a positive health and safety culture. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies to ensure best practice and continuous improvement. What the client is looking for: A recognised Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent). Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH or working towards). Significant experience managing health and safety within a facilities management or property compliance environment. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and building-related compliance. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage staff at all levels. Experience in managing audits, inspections, and contractor compliance. A commitment to high standards of service and continuous improvement.
