Role:Social Worker – Children’s Specialist Support Team
Location:Bracknell Forest
Pay:£45,362 to £47,387 per annum
Type:Permanent

Bracknell Forest Borough Councilis seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join the Children’s Specialist Support Team in Bracknell Forest. This team provides intensive support to children with complex needs and disabilities, ensuring they receive the right care, protection, and services to maximise their potential.

The successful candidate will work directly with children, young people, and their families, conducting statutory assessments, developing care plans, and implementing safeguarding interventions. You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working closely with multi-agency professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities:

* Assessments & Care Planning
* Conduct statutory assessments under the Children Act 1989, ensuring children’s needs are met through appropriate interventions.
* Develop person-centred care and support plans that address the needs of children with disabilities and additional needs.
* Work with children, families, and partner agencies to provide tailored support and early interventions.
* Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, ensuring children are protected from harm.
* Manage Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC) cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
* Participate in strategy discussions, case conferences, and multi-agency reviews, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
* Collaborate with education, health, therapy, and voluntary sector partners to provide holistic support.
* Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Advocate for children and families, ensuring they receive access to appropriate short breaks, respite care, and community services.
* Ensure all work complies with statutory legislation, local policies, and best practice frameworks.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, reports, and assessments.
* Participate in reflective supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

* A recognised Social Work Qualification
* Understanding of relevant legislation and commitment to continual professional development
* Registration with Social Work England
