Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1 (Level 3 Qualified) Location: Bacup, Lancashire Start Date: January 2026 Contract Type: Full-time, Term Time Only We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Bacup who are seeking a Level 3 qualified Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time role supporting pupils across Key Stage 1, including Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, promote wellbeing, and help create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. About the Role: Support pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, both in class and through small group interventions Assist with phonics, early literacy and numeracy development Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning to meet individual needs Uphold safeguarding procedures and contribute to a nurturing school culture The Ideal Candidate Will: Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) Have experience working in a primary school setting, ideally within KS1 Be confident supporting children with a range of needs, including SEND Demonstrate a caring, patient and proactive approach Work in line with the DfE Teaching Assistant Professional Standards, including: Promoting the school's ethos and values Supporting pupil learning and development Collaborating effectively with colleagues and professionals Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment Engaging in reflective practice and professional growthIf you're passionate about helping young learners thrive and meet the criteria above, we'd love to hear from you.
