4. OR two part-time posts (18 hours each)
5. Work Pattern: MondayFriday, 10:00am 6:00pm
Pay Framework:
While Inverurie Medical Group is not formally aligned to Agenda for Change, the salary for this role is benchmarked against NHS Scotland Band 6 pay rates, currently:
6. £43231 to £52679 per annum.
Job Purpose
To work as an autonomous Band 6 Practice Nurse delivering high-quality, evidence-based care within primary care. The role includes chronic disease management, treatment room services, and preventative health care, working within agreed protocols and recognising when to escalate to a GP or senior clinician. Working primarily with the Medical Practice Duty team for on the day clinical triage.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Practice
7. Deliver structured chronic disease management including:
8. Asthma and COPD
9. Hypertension and cardiovascular disease
10. Diabetes
11. Undertake patient assessments and implement care plans within scope
12. Minor Injuries clinics
13. Identify clinical risk and escalate appropriately
14. Cervical screening (smears) in line with national guidance
Treatment Room Duties
15. Venepuncture and routine blood tests
16. Administration of injections (e.g. vaccines, B12)
17. Wound care assessment and dressings
18. ECGs and clinical observations
19. Suture/clip removal
20. Infection prevention and control
Clinical Decision-Making
21. Work within clinical protocols and templates
22. Recognise deterioration or abnormal findings
23. Escalate to GP appropriately (urgent and routine)
24. Ensure accurate clinical documentation and safety-netting
Team Working
25. Work collaboratively with GPs, ANPs, nurses, and HCAs
26. Support junior staff where appropriate
27. Contribute to safe systems of work and service improvement
