The SUB AIT program supports the In-Service Attack Submarines Program Office (PMS 392) under Program Executive Office Attack Submarines (PEO SSN) to achieve optimal submarine operational readiness by providing/production support, component repairs and technical support to accomplish repair, maintenance,
removal/installation, troubleshooting and associated testing for Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) submarine maintenance availabilities.
The efforts associated with this program will help restore and maintain the material condition and modernization of the fast attack submarines of the United States Navy.
Responsibilities
* 2+ years\' experience performing repair work on nuclear submarines within the trade they are being assigned.
* Marine Electrician Tasks: Non-nuclear Electrical Work (TSD EW) – Remove, modify, and install electrical equipment; remove, install, groom, and band wireways and cabling; pack and unpack equipment and bulkhead penetrations; repair electrical equipment and cabling; utilize electrical checks to test and troubleshoot electrical systems; disconnect, groom, and reconnect wiring.
* Generator/Motor Repair, Electrical (TSD E4) – Disassemble and replace motor and generator components; troubleshoot, modify and adjust motors and generators; balance components; insulate using mechanical and dip methods; stone and bevel commutator and slip rings; assemble components.
* Topside Electrical Work (TSD TZ) – Remove, modify, install electrical equipment; disconnect, remove, install, groom, band, and reconnect wireways and cabling; utilize electrical checks to test systems; remove, install, and test hull fittings, penetrations, and tank level indicators.
* TSD EW, TSD E4, and TSD TZ tasks include training/qualification and experience with all tasks and components similar to those outlined for each area; experience performing SUBSAFE work IAW NAVSEA 0924-062-0010 L/R (Submarine Safety Requirements Manual).
* Perform SUBSAFE-related activities as required and maintain final favorable adjudicated investigations (tier 3) per DoD requirements.
Qualifications
* 2+ years of related experience in the specified trade, including repair work on nuclear submarines.
* HS/GED
* Must be a United States citizen
* Must be able to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance
