The Role:
This role will focus on supporting senior fee earners with the administration of estates while also assisting with the wider operational needs of the Private Client team. It offers strong hands-on exposure to probate matters and an opportunity to develop technical expertise in estate administration.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with the full estate administration process, including:
* Collecting assets and identifying liabilities
* Liaising with banks, valuers, accountants, and financial institutions
* Obtaining date of death valuations
* Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
* Supporting the preparation of estate accounts
* Assisting with inheritance tax reporting and compliance
* Manage correspondence and act as a point of contact for clients and third parties
* Draft letters, emails, and legal documents
* Support client onboarding, file opening, and compliance procedures
* Maintain accurate and well-organised electronic files
* Assist with file reviews, archiving, and general departmental administration
Candidate Requirements:
* Strong academic background (minimum BBB at A-Level and GCSE Maths & English at grade C/4+)
* Previous administrative or legal experience (ideally within private client/probate)
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and client care skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Professional, discreet, and proactive approach
