About UNSW Department Of Pathology
The Department of Pathology is home to a world-class community of scientists undertaking cutting-edge biomedical and clinical research aimed at understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms driving the pathogenesis of human disease and the development of new clinically viable therapeutics.
The department is renowned for its innovative delivery of high-quality and up-to-date pathology teaching into the medicine program and to science students on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of disease and the accurate interpretation and diagnosis of disease specimens. Our courses cover basic pathological processes, as well as specific courses on the molecular basis of disease, cancer pathology, musculoskeletal disease, clinical immunology, and imaging of disease. Our education-focused members are also leading new educational projects to further enhance learning and teaching in pathology more broadly.

Those appointed to this specialisation will be expected to drive educational excellence within the university's teaching and learning communities.
The incumbent will contribute to undergraduate teaching within the discipline of Pathology and collaboratively with other disciplines in the School of Biomedical Sciences. Teaching activities include, but not limited to, the preparation, execution and evaluation of lectures, tutorials, and practical classes, and facilitation of small group learning sessions. Qualifications
* A PhD in Biomedical Science, Pathology or a related discipline, and/or medical degree with relevant professional expertise.
* Experience in histopathology.
* Demonstrated experience in effective biomedical teaching including development, delivery, and course convening, at an undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
* Experience using and/or designing with educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
* Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
* Evidence of ability to support and inspire students from diverse backgrounds and support student equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
