Overview
A vacancy at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The post is part of the Estates & Facilities Team, specifically the Small Works Team that provides maintenance services – both planned and reactive – for the Trust’s properties.
Responsibilities
The post holder will participate in providing a quality, efficient, responsive, flexible and effective estates service. Responsibilities include:
* Painting, decorating, carpet laying and general maintenance across all hospital areas
* Performing routine and non‑routine maintenance, reactive repairs, and planned maintenance activities as directed by management
* Ensuring compliance with safety standards and procedures, and taking all necessary safety measures to prevent danger, injury and damage to equipment
* Carrying out internal and external painting, repair works to plastering, ceramic tiling, paper hanging and stencilling in line with manufacturer’s recommendations and best practice
* Maintaining building fabric (internally and externally) to quickly return defective items to service
* Undertaking decorative and maintenance tasks to improve the overall appearance of the Trust
* Managing rotational area painting duties and responding to in‑call reactive defects, reporting to the Facilities Team
* Advising Team Managers of Health & Safety or maintenance issues that may affect safe building operation
* Assisting the Small Works Team across the full range of duties in a multitask environment
Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites. Flexible working arrangements are available and will be considered where possible.
Working Conditions
Employment is subject to a six‑month probationary period. Early application is advised as vacancies may close once sufficient applications are received.
