English Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Duration: Maternity Contract (Full-Time)
ANZUK Education is working with a secondary school on the Somerset/Devon border that is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join their team from January to cover a maternity leave. This is a full-time position teaching Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 English, with the potential opportunity to teach Drama depending on experience and timetable needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach English to KS3 & KS4 students (and Drama, if applicable)
* Plan and deliver engaging, creative, and inclusive lessons aligned with the national curriculum
* Mark and assess students work, providing meaningful feedback to support progress
* Create a positive and supportive learning environment that inspires a love of language and literature
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively and build strong rapport with students
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to departmental planning and activities
Key Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
* Experience teaching English at KS3 & KS4 level
* Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English (and Drama, if applicable)
* Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills
* Ability to quickly adapt to a new school environment
* A passion for motivating and inspiring students
