Deputy Manager – Childrens Residential Home
Full-Time | 40 Hours per Week | Flexible Rota Including Weekends & Sleep-ins

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in leading a dynamic residential care team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in residential childcare who is ready to take the next step into leadership—or continue growing in a management role that truly matters.
What Youll Do
As Deputy Manager, youll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring high-quality care and a safe, nurturing environment. Youll inspire and guide your team while upholding the highest standards of compliance and care.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Supporting the Registered Manager with overall service delivery and home management
* Leading, mentoring, and motivating care staff to provide consistent, compassionate support
* Managing budgets and resources effectively
* Ensuring full compliance with care regulations and Ofsted standards
* Overseeing staff training, development, and performance management
* Coordinating and reviewing person-centred care plans for young people
* Promoting continuous improvement and operational efficiency
* Fostering a culture of safety, respect, and growth within the home
What Youll Bring
Were looking for someone who leads with empathy, communicates with clarity, and thrives in a collaborative environment.
Essential:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
* At least 2 years experience in a supervisory role within childrens residential care
* Solid understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted frameworks
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Confident in using digital systems for care planning and documentation
Desirable:
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People), or willingness to work towards it
* Previous experience as a Deputy Manager

* Driving Licence (required)
* NVQ Level 3 Residential Childcare (required)
