The Women’s and Girls Academy Sports Therapist will be responsible for delivering a first-class Therapy and Rehabilitation service to help maximise player performance and enhance recovery.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assess injuries sustained by Wrexham AFC Women’s & Girls Academy players.
* Create and deliver effective, suitable treatment and rehabilitation programmes for injured players.
* Report and provide feedback to the team’s Manager / Coach regarding progress of injured players and management of fit players.
* Assist with the management of all recovery strategies post training and fixtures.
* Work closely with the Women’s Department Lead Sports Therapist/Rehabilitator and Strength & Conditioning coaches to develop and implement pre-hab strategies and training programmes.
* Support pre-season screening and in-season data collection as required.
* Provide regular reports on injury status and squad availability to team managers.
* Maintain and record data on all player injuries, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with professional standards.
* Provide pitch-side cover during training and matches, including for officials and spectators.
* Attend CPD and training sessions as requested, and assist the medical department as needed.
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensure compliance with Club Safeguarding Policies to provide a safe and positive environment for all engaged with the Club.
* This role requires an Enhanced DBS check.
HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Take responsibility for health and safety of yourself and others, adhering to the Club’s policies and legal obligations.
About The Candidate
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
* BSc in Sports Therapy, Sports Rehabilitation, or equivalent higher degree.
* Registered or eligible for registration with the HCPC.
* Registered with a recognised professional body.
* Valid sports trauma injury / first aid / pitch side qualification.
* Experience in football or full-time sport environment, managing injury diagnosis, treatment, and performance strategies.
* Strong clinical assessment and treatment skills, with understanding of rehabilitation processes.
* Experience with medical records management and familiarity with GPS data relevant to rehabilitation and training.
* Availability to work weekdays, weekends, and evenings according to schedule.
