Part‑time (0.40 FTE – 15 hours a week) Fixed Term contract up to September 2028.
Salary: £36,636 – £46,049 per year, with potential progression to £48,822 on post‑completion.
Closing date: 22 April 2026. UK and international travel may be required.

Department Overview
The Global Centre in Clean Energy and Equitable Transportation Solutions (CLEETS) is a partnership between the University of Birmingham, Cardiff University and UK & international partners. The project is funded by UKRI and aims to advance clean energy research and equitable transport solutions.
Job Summary
Manage the CLEETS project and support Professor Jonathan Radcliffe in its delivery as a 0.4 FTE Project Manager working alongside the existing Project Manager.
Main Duties
* Responsible for delivery of the CLEETS project, providing high‑level project management support.
* Develop project plans, KPIs and milestones.
* Review and audit progress, identify and act on improvements.
* Report progress, prepare reports on budgetary management, and present to Project Boards and other stakeholders.
* Provide executive support to Project Boards, work streams and working groups, setting agendas and ensuring follow‑up action.
* Assess and escalates issues and risks, monitoring risk registers.
* Stakeholder management – effective liaison with partners, funders and Project Boards.
* Manage project resources and budgets, maintain documentation.
* Organise and support delivery of conferences, meetings, workshops and dissemination events.
* Develop and deliver communication strategy, including newsletters, stakeholder briefings and online content.
* Ensure priorities balanced and deliver agreed deliverables on time.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of project management methodologies.
* Source, analyse and develop insights from data to inform evaluation and review.
* Promote equality and diversity, acting as a role model in an inclusive culture.
* Support the University’s sustainability agenda through resource‑efficient working.
* Other duties commensurate with the grade.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, Experience
* Degree level or equivalent, with practical managerial experience or a track record of increasing responsibility.
* Proven project management success.
* Literacy and numeracy, written communication and data analysis skills.
* Excellent budgetary management.
* Highly proficient IT skills – MS Office, website editing software; quick learner of new tools.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, relationship‑building and influencing skills.
* Excellent organisational and multi‑tasking skills, methodical approach, prioritisation to meet deadlines.
