Role Title: Business Analyst Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days on-site at client location) Contract Duration: 6 months Location: London / Glasgow Experience Required: 15 years Overall Purpose: To support the bank’s Product Control and Finance Control functions within the Markets Finance Tech Change team. The role focuses on finance sub-ledger systems, P&L and balance sheet reporting, valuation processes, and MI reporting for senior management. Key Accountabilities: Business & Data Analysis Gather, prioritize, and document business requirements. Define functional and integration requirements aligned to Agile delivery. Collaborate with Finance, Risk, and Treasury stakeholders to define product backlogs. Create GUI mock-ups and documentation (Confluence/Wiki). Work with feature teams to ensure business outcomes are met. Analyse and resolve UAT issues; respond to finance user queries. Identify functional/process gaps and recommend improvements. Support process re-engineering initiatives. Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Finance, Risk, and Treasury. Required Skills & Experience: Essential: 15 years of experience as a Business Analyst in financial services. Strong data analysis skills (including SQL querying and data interrogation). Proven experience in data and business process modelling. Solid understanding of Finance (Product Control / Financial Control) and sub-ledger accounting. In-depth knowledge of Investment Banking products and finance processes. Ability to produce structured, well-documented analysis and solutions. Experience with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall delivery models. Understanding of Agile concepts: backlog, stories, acceptance criteria, definition of ready/done. Experience working with senior stakeholders (Director/MD level). Ability to mentor junior Business Analysts. Knowledge of front-to-back finance and operational process flows.
