The Vacancy
Veterinary Surgeon - SheffieldUp to £75,000 DOE Plus £5,000 Relocation Allowance
Now for work-life balance
At Vets Now Sheffield, we understand the importance of maintaining a healthy work life balance which is why we have developed a rota pattern designed to do just that. Our full time role consists of working an average of 40 hours per week across weekday nights, and weekend days and nights on a 1:2 rotation, as well as a share of bank holidays never working more than three nights in a row.
Of course, we appreciate not everyone can commit to full time hours which is why part time or weekend only applications are also warmly welcomed.
Now for the clinic and team
Our Sheffield clinic is hosted within PDSA so you see both private and PDSA case load. This serves a busy, high-demand area, making it the third busiest clinic in the region. This means you'll see a varied and rewarding ECC caseload, particularly during the summer months when the clinic can be especially busy and shifts can be fast-paced and clinically engaging.
What truly sets Sheffield apart is the team. You'll be joining a close knit and supportive group of around 10 vets and 10 nurses who genuinely enjoy working together and consistently pull together during busier periods. Team retention is excellent, with several vets having been in post for 7-9 years and nurses with up to 18 years' service a testament to the positive culture and strong team dynamic.
Now for enhanced rewards and benefits
Our commitment to your wellbeing extends beyond the diverse caseload, with an exceptional benefits package which includes, but is not limited to:
* £1,500 CPD allowance plus 35 paid hours pro rata
* ECC certificate support financial and paid study leave
* Enhanced company sick, maternity, paternity and adoption pay schemes
* Private medical insurance
* Seven weeks pro rata annual leave
* Up to 50% discounted staff pet care
* Professional membership fees
Now for innovation
Our AdvantEdge programme includes a one week hands on practical training, followed by 20 hours of flexible case based e-learning completed at your pace. This blended approach is designed to help you start your career at Vets Now with confidence and continue developing your ECC skills in a supportive clinical environment.
If you're eager to explore the clinic first-hand before submitting your application, you can arrange a visit with the Senior Vet by contacting Jess in our Talent Team through jessica.allcock@vets-now.com.
We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds, including those from diverse and minority groups. As a Disability Confident Employer, we encourage candidates with disabilities and health conditions to apply and are committed to providing reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process.
