British Olympic Association and Team GB
Team GB is the British and Northern Irish Olympic team – one of the nation’s most successful teams and one of its favourite brands. Run by the British Olympic Association (BOA), Team GB competes at Olympic and Olympic Winter Games and other events such as the European Games, Youth Olympic Games and European Youth Olympic Festivals.
The BOA is independent and privately funded. Our success is entirely dependent upon the income we receive from our commercial programmes, including but not limited to sponsorship, fundraising, licensing, and events.
Team GB is the public-facing brand of the BOA and with over 3.6m followers across its channels has a highly engaged and passionate audience.
In 2023 Team GB launched a new visual identity and brand platform; Everyday Extraordinary. The visual identity consists of a new brand palette, owned font and a suite of design assets built on patterns inspired by movement and sport. It is providing the opportunity to build on the identity of the nation’s most loved sports team by creating modern, fresh and recognisable design assets.
With the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games on the horizon and so close to home, the BOA is on an exciting strategic path to refresh its brand, invest in data and generate new forms of content to grow our audiences and further engage the nation in support of our team and athletes.
The Role
Team GB is looking for an exciting design talent to bring creativity and ideas to the team that will help execute the campaign and brand communications strategy and generate exciting assets to engage our athletes and fans across multiple channels and environments.
Our ambition remains consistent; we want the nation to help inspire Team GB’s athletes to extraordinary achievement at the Olympic Games whilst building love and awareness for Team GB among fans. This role plays a significant part in that by building on a much-loved brand, working with a new and exciting visual identity and being a significant part of a team taking the excitement to the fans.
Development of digital assets is key to the role and there will be the opportunity to shape those assets across Team GB channels through ideation and by using various design techniques and approaches.
In addition, the whole brand team has a responsibility to ensure the brand is used in an exciting and engaging way by all internal and external stakeholders whilst adhering to brand guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
The role will involve a wide range of design and artwork responsibilities. The candidate will be required to work on various projects in conjunction with one another so the ability to manage different deadlines and deliverables is important.
Primary responsibilities:
1.\tTeam GB channel assets - Support marketing campaigns, peaks and activation strategies, by:
-\tWorking with the wider marketing team, the candidate will be responsible for the design of assets for Team GB channels including, social channels, ECRM, website and Team GB app. With a particular focus on social channels.
-\tWorking closely with the content team to optimise and update social assets regularly and mid-campaign, based on performance and learnings
Note: an interest in, and awareness of social channels and producing content for social is key
2.\tGames specific branding – Working with the Senior Designer, design Olympic Games specific branding (including Youth Olympic Games, European Olympic Games, Summer and Winter Olympic Games). Support the athlete services team in the design and production of athlete facing branding.
Work with brand colleagues to manage the production of the Games-time branding order with external suppliers. Identify and work with suppliers (UK and in-country) and support in managing costs to ensure best value for the organisation and sustainability where possible.
3.\tBrand development and guardianship – working with the Senior Graphic Designer, Head of Marketing and colleagues to ensure the ongoing health of the Team GB and Team GB Foundation brands through strong brand management and development. This includes the ongoing management and application of brand and licensing guidelines both internally and via stakeholders externally. Sharing and explaining brand guidelines and provide brand assets to colleagues and external agencies as required.
Additional responsibilities:
4.\tCommercial – support the Senior Graphic Designer and Head of Marketing in providing assets to support new business and existing partnership programmes, as well as the development of licensing (Team GB Shop) and events (e.g. Team GB Ball).
5.\tDigital content – development of content designed for social and digital media channels, including Out of Home creative and content for eCRM channels and customised emails.
6.\tCorporate design requirements – ongoing maintenance of presentation formats, illustrations, infographics and charts to showcase the work of the BOA and Team GB.
7.\tFinance –support the Senior Graphic Designer in selecting and managing external suppliers and researching and advising on a range of production options in line with budgetary requirements.

•\tManaging deadlines with projects involving very tight timelines
•\tNumerous projects occurring at once with different deliverables
•\tFactoring in the process of approval to project timelines for all work produced from within the BOA and, in some cases, external stakeholders, e.g. sponsors
•\tBuilding strong internal relationships
Relationships and Interfaces:
•\tThis role reports to the Senior Graphic Designer/Head of Marketing.
•\tHigh level of liaison with all BOA internal teams, external partners, agencies, stakeholders and suppliers.
•\tClose working relationships with the Marketing, Commercial, Digital and Communications teams, and senior leadership to deliver on objectives.
Person Specification
You will be a marketing professional with:
•\tIdeally 2 years’+ experience working with recognised commercial brands
•\tHigh standards of execution, with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
•\tAn interest in social content, including testing and reapplying learnings through different designs
•\tContent production and branding creation experience
•\tA creative approach to solving design challenges
•\tExperience in working with suppliers on production and delivery of physical branding, including format, finishes and managing deadlines
The role requires the following skills:
•\tThe postholder will need to be able to demonstrate high levels of competency in the following software applications:
- Adobe Creative Suite CS4
- In Design
- Illustrator
- Photoshop
- Bridge
- Microsoft Office
- PowerPoint
•\tKnowledge of both the Mac and Windows operating environment is preferable. The BOA’s in-house system is Windows based, although there is a full Mac suite for the Graphic Designer.
•\tBasic knowledge of HTML.
•\tBOA is looking for an individual with an HND in Graphic Design (or an equivalent level qualification).
•\tAdditional capabilities in methods including (but not exclusive to) illustration or motion asset creation are highly desirable.
•\tAble to build effective working relationships.
•\tExcellent communication skills – updating the relevant project manager(s) will be key to ensuring efficient and correct completion of all jobs.
•\tHigh levels of organisation to be able to manage workload and timelines.
•\tAbility to work both as part of a team and on their own without supervision.
