Business Context
1. Hiscox UK is embarking on a major transformation to drive growth and improve efficiency, ensuring weremaincompetitive in an increasingly complex market.
2. This transformation focuses on four key business areas: Direct, Broker, Operations and Underwriting, with a strong emphasis on building a sustainable, long-term transformation capability.
3. A number ofinitiatives are already underway across these areas, requiring clear ownership,prioritisationand delivery to realise business value.
4. Product Managers will play a critical role as transformation partners to the business, shaping vision, definingroadmapsand driving delivery of change.
5. This is a senior role requiring strong stakeholder management and the ability to build trusted relationships at UKLT level.
The Role-BrokerChannel
This role will specifically partner with the Broker business area, with responsibility for shaping and delivering the roadmap to support brokers in placing and servicing business with Hiscox.
This includes driving the transformation of broker-facing journeys, trading capability and supporting systems, ensuring the proposition evolves in line with market expectations, brokerneedsand competitive trends.
Purpose
6. Collaborate with Senior Leadership to define,ownand continuously evolve themulti-yearroadmap for the business area, with end-to-end accountability for thestrategic outcomes, investment decisions,benefits realisationacross amulti-productportfolio
7. Be accountable forarticulating,evolvingandlanding the outcomesinherent within the roadmapfor the business vertical they are supporting
8. Broker against competing demands to ensurethe righttrade-offsare made to secure the benefits realisation plan
9. Own Discovery & Experience Design.Lead problem framing, hypothesis-driven discovery,facilitatejourney mapping and UX/CX collaboration
10. Ensure business outcomes are translated into clearly defined, outcome-based product intent, with requirements elaborated at theappropriate levelby the wider delivery team.Being theambassador and voiceof their journey areawithin the Transformationfunction, ensuring there is a clear articulation of the case for change andthe capability neededto deliver that
11. Agree solutions and compromises to ensure the right decisions are made for our customer groups
12. Identifyingissues across the complex delivery landscape and highlighting where business outcomesare under threat to ensure corrective action is taken
13. Create and foster strong relationships with all stakeholder groups across the business and transformation areas
Key Responsibilities:
14. Front door to Transformation -Acting as the UKLT’s front door to transformation, reporting to the relevant UKLT member as a dotted line.
15. Define, Own and Iterate theProduct Vision & Strategyfor each business area using both external and internal data to drivestrategic decisions.
16. Backlog Ownership:Define outcomes, prioritise epics/features using a transparent framework tied to measurable value
17. Be embedded within the business areaworking with the senior team to co-create and evolve the strategyand thentranslate this into capability needed.
18. Roadmap development& management-Overall accountability for creating and evolving business area roadmap, ensuringthere is a clear read across to the business strategy
19. Trade Off Management -make and defend complex prioritisation and investment trade-offsacross competing strategicobjectives.and act as a ‘strong voice of the business’ in transformation governance
20. Accountable for the delivery and optimisation of material business benefits, includingcommercialgrowth, efficiency, and customer outcomes, and for corrective action where value is at risk, tracking performance andidentifyingchallenges and opportunities
21. Drive out opportunities to enable business owned changeand increasing flexibility and agility in delivery
22. Measurement: Define success metrics (OKRs/KPIs),monitorperformance, and iterate
Candidate Profile
Skills and Experience
23. Strong experience in the insurance sector,operatingas a Product Manager / Senior Product Manager in broker-facing or distribution environments, with a clear understanding of broker trading,placementand servicing
24. Proven experience partnering with senior stakeholders, including Executive/ExCo-level leaders, to shape strategy, define roadmaps and influence investment decisions
25. Track recordof leading and delivering large-scale product or transformation initiatives across complex business domains
26. Strong strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to balance growth,efficiencyand customer outcomes
27. Experience owning and evolving product roadmaps, including prioritisation, trade-offdecisionsand benefits realisation
28. Strong capability in discovery and problem framing, working closely with design,technologyand business teams to shape solutions
29. Experience embedding customer insight into product and roadmap decisions, particularly within digital or customer-facing environments
30. Comfortable operating in matrixed, cross-functional environments, with strong stakeholder management and influencing capability
31. Strong communicationskills, with the ability to clearly articulate the case for change
32. Experience working in Agile product environments, including backlog ownership and delivery oversight
33. Data-driven mindset, with experience tracking performance and delivering measurable outcomes
