Grounds Maintenance Operative

Full-time, Temporary (37 hours per week)
The Role
We are currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our client's Environmental Services team. This is a hands-on role maintaining public parks, open spaces, roadside verges, and gardens across the borough.
You'll be involved in a variety of tasks, including:
* Grass cutting, hedge and shrub maintenance
* Litter picking and cleaning of public furniture
* Planting and upkeep of floral displays, hanging baskets, and lawns
* Sports pitch preparation and minor tree work
* Application of weed killer and basic landscaping
* Playground inspections and light maintenance
You'll be working independently or as part of a team, keeping Slough's public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for the community.

You'll be working with our client delivering essential frontline services that enhance the environment and wellbeing of the borough. The Environmental Services team plays a key role in maintaining green spaces that the public relies on every day.

The Candidate
We are looking for someone with:
* Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, or horticultural work
* Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and safe working practices
* Good attention to detail and the ability to work to high standards
* A proactive, reliable, and safety-conscious approach
* The ability to work alone or as part of a small team
* Relevant horticultural or grounds maintenance certificates (desirable but not essential)
