Overview

The post will be Emergency Medicine clinical care allowing an opportunity for doctors wanting to gain experience and responsibility in not just managing patients but managing a busy department (at Registrar level).

The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service.


Responsibilities

* Take a history and examine a patient
* Identify and synthesize problems
* Prescribe safely
* Keep an accurate and relevant medical record (electronic notes)
* Manage time and clinical priorities effectively
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues
* Use evidence, guidelines and audit to benefit patient care
* 40% of the time will be spent undertaking departmental innovation/quality improvement projects

The ideal candidate will be a doctor who wishes to take time to do more leadership, education and innovation. You may wish to discover your leadership, management and influencing skills. You may have a passion to enhance your medico-associated skills such as development of new pathways, finding solutions to problems or systems design. You will be dynamic, self-driven and able to manage your time.


Qualifications and requirements

* Current right to work in the UK, subject to verification
* Qualification of the eligibility sponsorship criteria
