We have a Maintenance Technician – Mechanical role to join our team, covering sites across East London, Tower Hamlets and Hackney.
1. Starting from £41,000 per annum (depending on experience)
2. On Call allowance
3. Full-time, permanent
4. Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
5. Company van & tools provided
Key Responsibilities
This role will deliver reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across NHS Property Services premises, ensuring mechanical systems are maintained safely, compliantly and to a high standard.
Typical responsibilities include:
6. Mechanical reactive works and PPMs across a portfolio of sites
7. Working on mechanical building services such as: Air Handling Units (AHUs)Fan coil unitsMechanical plant and associated systems
8. Mechanical and plumbing-based tasks including: Pressure systemsLegionella controlTemperature testingSystem purgingFilter changes
9. Supporting statutory compliance activities
10. Participation in an on-call rota, with the ability to attend sites within one hour
This is a mechanically biased role and is not suited to domestic-only plumbers or vehicle mechanics.
Can handle routine tasks and social interactions within a work environment. Ability to absorb policy and guidance necessary for the role.
Where you’ll be
This is a mobile role covering East London, Tower Hamlets and Hackney.
To support operational requirements and the on-call rota, candidates should ideally live within approximately one hour / 40 miles of St Leonard’s.
What we’re looking for
Essential:
11. NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (or Mechanical/Plumbing equivalent)
12. Proven experience working on commercial mechanical systems
13. Broad knowledge of mechanical and plumbing-based building services
14. Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
15. Knowledge of BMS systems
16. Experience within healthcare, commercial or large estate environments
