Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Trailer fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for maintaining and repairing trucks and trailers and related equipment. Experience with tail lifts and hydraulic systems would be an advantage. This role is essential in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our customers' fleet, contributing to overall operational success.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair trucks, trailers and associated equipment.
* Conduct thorough inspections to identify issues and perform necessary repairs.
* Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
* Use diagnostic equipment for fault finding and repairs.
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
* Ensure compliance with safety regulations while working in the workshop or on-site.
* Agreeable to be included on a weekly on-call rota system.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic/Trailer fitter/plant fitter or similar role.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair.
* Proficiency in using power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools.
* Ability to read schematics and technical manuals effectively.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
* A valid driving licence is preferred, along with the ability to operate various types of vehicles.
* C+E licence would be an advantage but not essential.
