Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, must attend a recruitment day in Glasgow)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus potential additional shift allowance of 33%)
What You'll Be Doing
As a Pipefitter, you will play a crucial role in our projects, ensuring the efficient operation of piping installations while upholding the highest standards of safety and quality. Your responsibilities will include:
* Fabricating and installing pipework systems using various materials (copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel).
* Utilizing hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes.
* Installing utilities aboard ships, including sinks, showers, and toilets.
* Assembling fittings, valves, and related components according to technical drawings.
* Collaborating with other trades to ensure timely project completion.
* Adhering to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
* Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (required upon application) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture and installation.
* Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
Desirable:
* Marine Pipefitting experience.
* Experience in industrial or commercial settings.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
