Hillingdon Granges – primarily Yiewsley Grange; may also support other sites.
Salary & Bonus
Up to £53,200 FTE DOE plus £5,000 Welcome Bonus (£2,500 after one month and £2,500 after completion of final probation period, T&C's apply).
Hours & Contract
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am – 16.30pm. Permanent (term time only, or flexible full‑time contract can be discussed).
Role Overview
You will deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs, within the Hillingdon Grange Option Autism setting. Working collaboratively with the education team you will hold a caseload, be supported by a clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation.
Responsibilities
* Conduct Speech and Language assessment and develop intervention plans tailored to each pupil’s needs.
* Provide individual and group therapy sessions within the educational setting.
* Collaborate with teachers, psychologists, speech‑language therapists and other professionals to support pupil’s learning and welfare.
* Maintain case records, progress notes and write reports in accordance with professional standards.
* Contribute to staff training, consultation and safeguarding activities.
* Support CPD and pursue further qualifications relevant to ASD and related needs.
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
* HCPC registered.
* 1–2 years experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT in a similar setting.
* Relevant experience working with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles.
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma‑informed practice.
* Experience working multi‑disciplinarily and communicating with families and carers.
* Strong relationship‑building, analytical and judgement skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication.
* Good time‑management and organisational skills.
* Competent in core areas of SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards.
* Knowledge of assessment tools, intervention techniques and formulation of support plans.
* Knowledge of legislation and its implications for clinical practice.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Willingness to undertake training and pursue further qualifications relevant to ASD experience.
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences that may impact communication.
* Knowledge of how arousal levels affect communication.
