The role
Higher Level Teaching Assistant Prospero Teaching is recruiting a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils in an independent school setting in the Salisbury area . This is an excellent opportunity to join a well‑resourced and supportive environment where a personalised approach to learning is a key focus.
You will play an important role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers while also leading lessons, interventions, and small‑group sessions when required. The school values flexibility and collaboration, meaning you may support across different subjects and age groups depending on need.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a smaller school environment and enjoys building strong relationships with pupils.
The Role: - Support teaching and learning across the classroom
- Lead small‑group interventions and targeted support sessions
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons independently when required
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils where needed
- Assist with planning, preparation, and classroom resources
- Support behaviour management and emotional development
- Work across different subjects or key stages where required
- Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently
Ideal Candidate: - Experience working in a school setting (TA or HLTA level)
- Confident leading lessons and small‑group activities
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Able to support pupils with a range of abilities and needs
- Flexible and comfortable working across different subjects
- Proactive, reliable, and team‑focused
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience desirable
Contract Details: - Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
- Location: Salisbury
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
- Pay Rate: £100 - £110 a day
- Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
- Setting: Independent School
Experience, Training & Safeguarding: - Classroom experience essential
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience in independent or small‑school settings beneficial
- Safeguarding training can be provided
