About Our Client

You'll be joining a friendly, Liverpool‑based accountancy practice with a close‑knit team of 16, known for valuing its people just as much as its clients. Job Description

As a Payroll Assistant, you'll work closely with our Payroll Manager and Accounts Managers to support weekly and monthly payrolls for around 150 clients across a variety of sectors. You'll gain hands‑on experience with real payroll processes-processing new starters and leavers, calculating statutory payments, submitting RTI to HMRC, managing pension contributions, and helping with year‑end tasks. This role offers the perfect balance of responsibility and support: you'll learn from experienced colleagues while taking on meaningful tasks that directly impact our clients. If you enjoy a mix of routine and problem‑solving, value accuracy, and like the idea of becoming a payroll expert, this is a fantastic place to start.

The Successful Applicant

You'll shine in this role if you have:

3. 1-2 years' experience in a payroll bureau or multi‑client environment
4. A good understanding of statutory and legislative payroll regulations
5. Great attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
6. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
7. A professional, approachable communication style
8. Discretion when handling confidential information
