The Role
As a Project Manager, you will become an integral member of a dynamic PMO function, where you are fully responsible and accountable to understand and deliver the programme vision, objectives and benefits.
Day‑to‑day, the projects within this role include delivering a critical HW subsystem within the BUTEC ranging capability to address obsolescence and delivery of the HW solution for a replacement Acoustic Sensing and Processing Solution (ASPSR) to ensure next level acoustic analysis for the MoD customer.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Delivery of a high value (c £2.5m) project
* Development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
* Maintenance of forecasts (both financial and resource demand signal) for delivery which reflects the up‑to‑date expectations for the work
* Reporting progress on all accountabilities to senior programme / portfolio manager
Essential experience of the Project Manager
* Typically 2‑3 years in a Project Management position
* Ideally from the Defence, Aerospace or Marine industries
Essential qualifications for the Project Manager
* Degree educated
* APM, PPQ or Prince2 qualified

This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Farnborough or Portsmouth facilities with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.

At our Farnborough site exciting work takes place at our state‑of‑the‑art facility, with high‑energy laser technologies, our 5m pressurised wind tunnel which has a simulation capability that is unique in the UK and our large research and development projects is a real hub of creativity, research and innovation. PTP
Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services. It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
