Locum Sports Exercise Medicine Consultant
Applications are invited for a part-time Locum Sports and Exercise Medicine Consultant post within the National University Hospitals NHS Trust (Nottingham). The post is a 12-month contract with potential to extend, with a view to creating a substantive, part-time Consultant appointment in due course.
The successful candidate will deliver a minimum of 4.75 programmed activities (PAs) and support service delivery while replacing a vacant Consultant post. The post may combine clinical duties across Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust sites, including clinics at the Queen\'s Medical Centre, the National Centre for Sports & Exercise Medicine (NCSEM) at Loughborough, and community clinics at various locations in Nottingham. Candidates should ensure they can reliably commute.
Essential requirements include prior NHS experience. The successful candidate will contribute to delivery of clinical services and supervision of trainees in Sports and Exercise Medicine. Activities will include outpatient clinics and day-to-day running of the service, potentially including leading audit, quality improvement projects (QIP) and governance work.
Other opportunities include educational supervision of trainees, involvement in the integration of SEM into the new National Rehabilitation Centre, and collaboration with colleagues in other specialties for the Active Hospitals Pilot legacy. There is an expectation to contribute to governance and to act as an advisor to other departments to promote physical activity interventions across the Trust within the NUH strategy.

The Sports & Exercise Medicine department at NUH has been running for over 25 years. The successful candidate will join two other part-time Consultants who provide MSK secondary care clinics for adults and paediatric patients.
