With a growing pipeline of secured works, they offer a secure and rewarding environment for experienced commercial professionals.\n\nYour new role\n\nOur client is seeking a Groundwork Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to play a pivotal role in the commercial success of projects across Merseyside and surrounding areas.
You'll be responsible for both estimating new work and commercially managing live groundwork packages, primarily on high-rise residential and commercial developments. This is a hybrid role ideal for someone looking to take full ownership of tendering and post-contract cost control.\n\nResponsibilities will include:\n\nPreparing detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for groundwork and RC packages\n\nAttending site visits and pre-tender meetings to assess project scope\n\nIdentifying and measuring materials, labour, and plant requirements\n\nManaging subcontractor procurement and negotiation\n\nPreparing and issuing enquiries for subcontractors and suppliers\n\nMonitoring ongoing project costs and preparing monthly CVRs\n\nLiaising with project managers to ensure alignment between commercial and operational teams\n\nManaging variations, valuations, and final accounts\n\nReporting to the Commercial Director on project performance and risk\n\nWhat you will need to succeed:\n\nProven experience in groundworks and civil engineering as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator\n\nTrack record of pricing and managing groundwork packages on high-rise or commercial schemes\n\nExcellent understanding of construction contracts and cost control procedures\n\nStrong negotiation and analytical skills\n\nProficient in estimating and take-off software (e.g. Conquest, Causeway, Bluebeam or similar)\n\nDegree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)\n\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities\n\nFull UK driving licence\n\nWhat you get in return:\n\nExcellent salary of £65,000 - £75,000 depending on experience\n\nFull package including car allowance, pension scheme, and 25 days holiday\n\nLong-term career progression in a financially stable, growing company\n\nDirect exposure to high-profile developments and key decision-makers\n\nSupportive team culture where your expertise is valued and rewarded\n\nFlexible and autonomous working environment\n\nLooking for a senior-level role where your estimating and QS skills make a real commercial impact?
