Overview
The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is looking for a Senior Health Care Assistant to support our acute trust team. You will work under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered practitioner and deliver high‑quality personal and clinical care across a range of day, night and weekend shifts.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal and clinical care and undertake clinical observations as delegated by the registered practitioner.
* Ensure practice is guided by standard operating procedures, established policies and ethical guidelines.
* Document vital signs and record observations accurately.
* Work collaboratively within the ward/department team, demonstrating self‑directed development and recognising own limitations.
Qualifications
* Care Certificate (evidence required at interview).
* Experience in a health care setting is essential; training will be provided to develop core skills for Band 3 Senior Health Care Assistant.
* Excellent communication skills, teamwork and the ability to work independently.
* Energetic, hard‑working and motivated to deliver patient‑centred care.
Employment Details
Both full‑time and part‑time posts are available. Shift patterns include a mixture of day, night, weekend and bank holiday work. Standardised ward rota times:
* Long day: 07.30 – 20.00
* Night shift: 19.30 – 08.00
* Early and late short shifts available in limited areas.
