Due to new project wins, they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.
Job Purpose
The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing and controlling project costs across construction projects, ensuring financial efficiency and value for money from initial planning through to final account. The role supports the commercial success of projects while maintaining compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Pre-Construction
* Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
* Analyse drawings, specifications, and project scope
* Assist in value engineering to optimise cost efficiency
* Procurement & Tendering
* Prepare bills of quantities, tender documentation, and contract packages
* Evaluate and compare contractor and supplier bids
* Support the negotiation and appointment of subcontractors
Cost Management
* Monitor project costs and manage budgets throughout the lifecycle
* Track variations and change orders, ensuring accurate cost adjustments
* Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and cash flow projections
Contract Administration
* Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with terms
* Manage interim valuations and certify payments
* Prepare and agree final accounts with contractors and clients
* Project Collaboration
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders
* Attend site visits and progress meetings
* Provide commercial support to ensure projects remain on track
Risk & Compliance
* Identify and manage commercial risks
* Ensure adherence to UK construction regulations and contract standards
* Support dispute resolution where required

Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
* Previous experience in a Quantity Surveying role (level dependent)
* Knowledge of standard UK construction contracts (e.g. JCT)
* Working towards or membership of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is desirable
