In this role, you’ll have the chance to teach in a variety of classroom settings, learn from experienced educators, and work with students across different age groups and abilities. It’s an ideal platform to refine your teaching techniques, gain curriculum insight, and develop strong behaviour management strategies, while making a genuine difference in the classroom.
Responsibilities of an Early Career Teacher (ECT):
Deliver engaging and structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere where students feel motivated and supported.
Differentiate instruction to cater to pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs.
Monitor and assess student progress, giving constructive feedback.
Manage classroom behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
Collaborate effectively with other staff and contribute to the school’s wider goals.
Requirements for Early Career Teacher (ECT):
Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be in the process of obtaining it.
Subject specialism in any area of the curriculum (core or foundation subjects).
A reflective, proactive, and professional approach to teaching.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
