About the role:
We are looking for a caring and committed Pastoral Support Officer to join a secondary school in West Bromwich. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing, behaviour, and personal development within a school setting.
Main Responsibilities:
* Provide day-to-day pastoral support to students across all year groups
* Work with pupils to promote positive behaviour, attendance, and engagement
* Offer guidance and emotional support to students facing personal or social challenges
* Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate
* Support the implementation of behaviour and safeguarding policies
* Monitor attendance and punctuality, following up on concerns when needed
* Assist with reintegration meetings, behaviour plans, and pastoral interventions
Requirements:
* Previous experience in a school or youth support role
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging situations
* Confident working as part of a wider pastoral and safeguarding team
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
