Overview
Outpatients Receptionist - DSEU, 2 posts available – both are 12-month fixed term from 1 December 2025 until 30 November 2026. Post 1: Outpatient receptionist 16 hours per week. Post 2: Outpatient receptionist DSEU 28 hours per week. The outpatient reception DSEU rota is across 7 days, with shifts between 7am and 7pm (including Bank Holidays). The successful candidates must be able to support the flexibility of the rota. The Trust is seeking to recruit 2 reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join our busy team in providing a professional, effective reception and clerical service for our Trust outpatients and DSEU (Day Surgery and Endoscopy Unit).
Responsibilities
* Provide an efficient reception service maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
* Receive, administer, and direct patients and relatives to access the appropriate area or service in a courteous, efficient, and effective manner.
* Undertake a variety of administration duties to assist in the smooth running of the service and reception area you are allocated to each day.
* Input and extract information from Trust Patient Administrative Systems; maintain computer literacy as required.
* Be able to manage physical tasks related to preparing and handling patients\' Medical Records.
* Demonstrate good communication and customer service skills; be friendly, caring, and professional; evidence accuracy and attention to detail; work well both in a team and on own initiative.
* Respect and maintain patient confidentiality; understand the confidential nature of the work.
Requirements / Qualifications

* Proficiency in computer systems and data entry; ability to input and extract information from Trust systems.
* Flexibility to cover a 7-day rota including Bank Holidays; ability to work across 8am–8pm or 7am–7pm depending on post.
* Physical ability to assist with Medical Records when required.
* Understanding of the confidential nature of the work.
