Role Summary:
We’re looking for a buyer who will be responsible for the procurement of raw materials, electronic components, and equipment necessary for production. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, as well as the ability to negotiate contracts and pricing. They will be responsible for maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers and ensuring that all materials and equipment are delivered on time and within budget. In addition, the buyer will be responsible for forecasting future production needs and ensuring that the necessary materials and equipment are available when needed. The buyer will be based in Hull and report to the Managing Director of the Electronics Business.

To support the Hull site by maximising purchasing power to maintain our competitive product offering by delivering best value, price, quality, on-time delivery focusing on Total Cost of Acquisition and Ownership, utilising purchasing tools and techniques in line with recognized best practice, legal and policy requirements.

* Deliver aggressive year on year savings targets to meet or exceed budgets
* Manage supply chain risks, both in terms of material availability and cost in collaboration with Site Purchasing Lead
* Demonstrate the use of the RF(x) methodology to collate spend opportunities within spend categories, and the analytical ability to process the information received into a sourcing recommendation
* Develop, lead and manage the procurement process for project specific areas of spend
* Maintenance of fixed pricing schedules, maximising long term agreements and ensuring global requirements are considered
* Manage intercompany transactions and inventory movements ensuring deadlines are met (in collaboration with Warehouse personnel)
* Manage the supply chain to ensure Sustainability of procurement sources and introduce environmental improvements to the materials and processes used in the end-to-end procurement process
* Supplier selection and negotiations including terms and conditions, incoterms, payment terms, pricing and service levels.
* As a key business support function, you will provide support to all internal and external customers as required
* Take the commercial lead in support of Supplier Quality in vendor related non-conformances and development, ensuring lessons learned are executed fully
* Participate in HSE Awareness – Observation Cards, HSE Safety Suggestions
* Adopt and promote the F.I.R.S.T. values of the Wescom Supply Chain Team whilst delivering a best-in-class performance and service to all our customers
Candidate Profile
Must Have:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant Supply Chain role in a multi-stakeholder environment
* Excellent sourcing skills with a clear knowledge of all aspects of the ‘Strategic Sourcing Cycle’ and working capital processes
* Experience in the Supplier Relationship Management process with a clear understanding of the negotiation process
* Experience of implementing category/supplier plans
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Excellent MS Office skills particularly Excel
* Excellent commercial awareness and hunger for best value
* ‘Hands-on’ mentality, self-starter, resilient and tenacious under pressure
* Good organisational and time management skills
