 
        
        Our principal consultant, Robin Thomas, is searching for a skilled sales professional with demonstrable sales experience working with pumps and pump systems, to join a UK based manufacturer of precision-engineered pumps and associated systems, serving customers all around the globe

As a Regional Sales Engineer, youll manage key and general accounts within your region, developing and maintaining close contact with customers and end users from project inception through to completion and maximise the business potential through delivering exceptional customer service. Youll have a high level of autonomy in this role and be required to manage your own workload, regularly making decisions on sales price, margins, lead times, as well as resolving conflicts.
This is a home based position with extensive travel within UK and occasionally overseas.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
 1. Generate business opportunities within a designated area
 2. Prepare detailed technical and commercial quotations
 3. Provide technical support to customers throughout the pre-order stage, including pump selection and operation
 4. Attend technical and commercial clarification meetings and carry out contract negotiations
 5. Actively contribute to the development and support of the Water & Industry Business Unit Plan and provide timely and accurate supporting information as required
 6. Maintain customer contact through to project completion
 7. Liaise with other company departments to enhance customer service
 8. Preparation of Framework submissions, attendance at framework meetings and operate as Framework Manager for specific key customers
 9. Hot desk working in key customer offices to enhance the companys presence and visibility to increase business opportunities and offer improved customer support
 10. Prepare and carry out technical presentations
 11. Collection of all relevant market intelligence (competition & market etc.)
 12. Produce information on potential case studies/technical articles etc
 13. CRM effective use of the system to drive sales results and business intelligence reporting (pipeline & forecasting etc.)
 14. Provide exceptional customer service and support
Skills & Experience 
Essential
 15. Experience of selling activities in a pump, compressor or other rotating machinery environment
 16. Engineering background with experience of pumps and pumping systems
 17. Highly numerate with competent IT skills
 18. Ability to make decisions in a time and pressure sensitive environment
 19. Excellent oral and written communication skills Command of Microsoft Office applications (Word/Excel/Powerpoint)
 20. Risk management skills and experience
 21. Effective time management and organisational skills
 22. Knowledge and practical application of ISO
Desirable 
 23. HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject
 24. Experience of pump selection and operation, including system interaction
 25. Experience of contract both technical documentation and negotiation of Ts & Cs
 26. Extensive knowledge of the Water industry, key clients and contacts
 27. Knowledge and use of CRM systems
 28. Working knowledge of SAP
