Overview
Job summary: 1 x 37.5 hours per week. We are seeking an Administration Officer to join the Neighbourhood Rehabilitation Service (NRS), which encompasses the Intermediate Care team and Long-Term Condition Pathway, based at Kendray Hospital, Barnsley.
The team provides rehabilitation to patients in their own home and in residential care. The service offers specialist community therapy assessment and treatment to improve health and independence, and supports earlier discharge from hospital or prevention of hospital admission. You will provide comprehensive administrative support to a multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Support Workers.
You should have good organisational skills, be able to work autonomously to prioritise a busy workload, and possess excellent communication skills. You will communicate confidently with service users and healthcare professionals and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities
* Provide administrative support to a multidisciplinary team (Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Support Workers).
* Be computer literate in Microsoft Office; produce documents, manage correspondence, deal with telephone calls and messages, and handle service referrals.
* Arrange meetings and appointments; order items via the procurement system; maintain accurate records and documentation; produce letters and other documents.
* Work within Electronic Patient Records (e.g. SystmOne) and ensure confidentiality at all times.
* Work with initiative, prioritise workload to meet deadlines, and operate with minimal supervision while collaborating as part of a team.
* Communicate effectively with service users and health-care professionals; adapt communication to meet user needs.
Service Details and Requirements

Qualification and Experience
Essential
* NVQ level 3 (or equivalent qualification) or demonstrated competency at level 3; or ability to demonstrate competency at level 3.
* Recent secretarial/administrative experience including copy/audio typing; minute taking; managing emails, diaries, and organising meetings.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other Office applications (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Ability to work effectively as a team member with minimal supervision; able to handle a busy environment with competing demands; maintain strict confidentiality; demonstrate initiative and prioritisation.
* Good written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of Data Protection Act; strong customer care and interpersonal skills; resilient under pressure; non-judgemental and empathetic; able to adapt communication to varying user needs.
* Commitment to Trust values and induction requirements.
Desirable
* Experience in a caring environment; experience dealing with the public; knowledge of information governance.

Essential
* A satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years; able to meet Occupational Health requirements with reasonable adjustments if necessary.
