The role
The Subcontracts Manager will ensure that terms negotiated with our client's customers, are flowed-down into the agreements signed by suppliers. The Supply Chain Manager - Sub Contracts will work cross-functionally with technical, commercial and programme management stakeholders.
Specific duties of the Subcontracts Manager include:
Ensure subcontract activities are delivered within company standards, policies and procedures ensuring compliance at all times.
Maintain and monitor contract governance mechanisms with a view to identify and implement opportunities for improvement and mitigation of risk.
Lead all procurement subcontract activities in conjunction with the project team in order to deliver to time, quality and cost parameters as contracted.
Construct, negotiate, and manage contractual changes with suppliers and subcontractors
Manage subcontracts throughout project lifecycle.
Manage the overall performance and contractual relationship with the Supplier.
Manage contract disputes, seeking mutual resolution whilst protecting our client's commercial position and interests.
Act as a business advisor to internal customers, employs business acumen and experience to provide market knowledge, supply chain solutions and proactive support to the UK Defence business
Own Subcontractor relationship and ensure all key stakeholders are informed at all times
Ensure prime contract negotiation and commitments are flowed-down to subcontractors, including risks
The role is accountable for providing a best in class procurement service to UK Defence for the delivery of procurement projects across the full range of spend.
The Subcontracts Manager is responsible for driving the sourcing process, supplier risk management, and collaboration with business leadership to deliver the procurement strategy for the full range of procurement projects.
Required experience
Experience in Sub-Contract Management and Supplier Relationship Management.
Management and mitigation of supply chain risk & creation of opportunity.
Adept at business relationship management; internally & externally facing.
Degree in a Business or Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
CIPS Qualified or equivalent experience.
2+ years in a Procurement or Supply Chain related role.
Proven contract negotiation skills.
