The opportunity
As Quantity Surveyor at Hitachi Energy you are part of a team of catalysts for a sustainable future. The demand for energy sector infrastructure is rapidly increasing, we are looking to add a member to our team that is fully focussed on managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from initial calculations to final accounts.

How you’ll make an impact
* Prepare and analyse costing for tenders and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
* Perform risk, value management, and cost control during the project lifecycle.
* Identify, analyse, and develop responses to commercial risks and advise on our procurement strategy.
* Allocate work to subcontractors, value completed work and manage payments.
* Provide advice on contractual claims, analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
* Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
* Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
Your background
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
* Proven knowledge of construction costs, procurement, and contract law.
* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office Suite, quantity surveying software).
* Excellent analytical, mathematical, and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Membership of a professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is desirable.
