Overview
At Dalcour Maclaren, we are key players in the Utilities and Infrastructure industry, working with the UK and Ireland to achieve Net Zero. We bring land, environmental and geospatial expertise together to unlock the consents needed by our clients for major projects, including planning, environmental impact assessments and geospatial mapping. We act for 12 water companies and many Tier 1 contractors, delivering nature‑based solutions, pipelines, site constructions, water mains renewals, repairs, spills and quality monitoring.
Senior Surveyor – Bristol
Responsibilities
* Deliver land and property advice and services to and on behalf of clients.
* Deliver a range of tasks and/or schemes to a high standard.
* Use initiative and a proactive approach to ensure client deadlines and objectives are met and take pride and ownership in the quality of work delivered.
* Be client‑facing, developing strong working relationships with client personnel, internal and external stakeholders including contractors, consultants, landowners and occupiers.
* Hold professional conversations, manage expectations and discuss feedback to ensure a quality service is delivered.
* Support the development of junior staff and, if applicable, develop line‑management skills: provide constructive line management, own direct reports, conduct regular progress review and feedback meetings and delegate tasks effectively.
* Share experience and knowledge to support the development of people in the wider organisation whilst maintaining and improving your knowledge and skills through specialist CPD.
* Participate in and support company groups, initiatives, events and social activities, embrace Dalcour Maclaren values and foster a positive workplace attitude.
Qualifications
* Either MRICS or AssocRICS qualified.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Experience in leading a team or projects.
* Excellent client and team communication.
* Strong attention to detail, robust record‑keeping and excellent organisation.
* Experience dealing with conflict management.
* Ability to cross‑sell opportunities and undertake effective business development.
* Identifies and highlights risks promptly.
* A pro‑active mindset and desire to take ownership.
* Strong problem‑solving, time‑management and delegation skills.
* Support for junior team members.
* Willingness to work flexibly across projects and specialisms.
* Experience running commercial projects within budget, controlling scope and deliverables.
