We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking groundworker for a Major Civils / Construction client of ours based in Bristol. As a groundworker you will be responsible for installing drainage systems, foundations and other essential structures ensuring that they function efficiently and effectively.

About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and reliable Skilled Groundworker to support a major civil engineering project in Bristol (BS13). This is an excellent opportunity to work with a reputable contractor on a long-term infrastructure scheme.
As a Skilled Groundworker, you will play a key role in delivering essential groundwork packages, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
* Assisting with the installation of drainage systems, foundations, and other essential structures
* Operating hand tools and basic machinery safely and effectively
* Maintaining a clean and organised work environment
* Clearing debris and ensuring tools and equipment are stored properly
* Working closely with team members to complete projects on time
* Following all health & safety regulations on site
* Reporting any site or equipment issues promptly to supervisors
Key Responsibilities
* Installation of drainage systems, including pipe laying and associated groundwork
* Preparation and construction of foundations and substructures
* Assisting with kerbing, concreting, and other general civils duties
* Safe operation of hand tools and basic construction plant
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
* Adhering strictly to site health & safety regulations and company procedures
* Reporting defects, hazards, or equipment issues promptly to site supervisors
Working collaboratively with site teams to ensure project deadlines are met
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
* Valid Blue CSCS Card (Essential)
* Previous groundworks or construction experience preferred (training provided if required)
* Familiarity with basic construction machinery (advantageous)
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Proactive approach to health & safety
Requirements
Valid Blue CSCS Card (Essential)
Proven experience in groundworks or civil engineering projects
Ability to read and follow site drawings and instructions (advantageous)
Experience operating basic construction machinery (beneficial)
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team
Proactive and safety-conscious approach to work
Full right to work in the UK
