Test and Qualification Engineer
Role Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Test and Qualification Engineer to join their R&D team in Lewes, East Sussex.
You will be responsible for helping to define and conduct independent testing of new and updated embedded software and hardware products. The role is principally hands-on testing, but also includes participation in the continuous development of test environments and processes. It is a key role that contributes directly to the quality and reliability of embedded systems and networked audio solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Hands-on testing of PAVA communication systems, including both hardware and software
• Setting up and executing manual and / or automated testing for new or updated hardware and
software
• In collaboration with Test and Qualification colleagues:
* Produce comprehensive test plans for software and hardware products
* Design flexible and scalable test environments to support test plans and departmental needs
* Where possible, develop / deploy automated tests using appropriate tools and environments, including scripting, user interfaces and test rigs
Competence Requirements
• Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or a related technical field
• Ideally ISTQB certification (minimum foundation level)
• Experience in product testing of embedded systems (software and hardware)
• Proficiency in Python or similar languages for scripting and GUI development
• Working knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu)
• Familiarity with networking principles and protocols
• Understanding of electronics and system-level integration

capable of working independently and driving issues to resolution. You need to be organised, detail-oriented and eager to grow your technical expertise.
