Job Summary
We are delighted to announce that a full-time Nursery Nurse opportunity has become available within the Perinatal Mental Health Community Service. The position is for the West Kent Team, working across Maidstone and South West Kent.
The West Kent team is based in Maidstone. Working closely with NHS England, the aim is to improve access to and quality of perinatal mental health services across the counties.
We are looking for an experienced Nursery Nurse to provide nursery nursing interventions and support to women in the community experiencing moderate to severe perinatal mental health issues, including women in the antenatal and postnatal periods. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside professionals offering therapeutic input and wider community teams.
You must have a recognised Child Care qualification, e.g., NNEB or BTEC National Diploma.
Main duties of the job
* Work as a member of the MDT, assisting in providing interventions to meet the needs of the baby for mothers receiving in-patient care.
* Promote and support the health of the mother and baby.
* Provide an effective and supportive nursery nurse service to mothers in the antenatal and postnatal periods within the community.
* Support the mother and MDT, ensuring the emotional and practical care of the baby and monitoring developmental progress.
* Work in partnership with the family and wider community nursing teams, such as midwives, health visitors, community staff nurses, and community nursery nurses.
