We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. Duties
* Assist optometrists in conducting eye examinations and tests, ensuring all equipment is prepared and maintained.
* Provide guidance to patients regarding eyewear options, including frames and lenses.
* Manage patient records with accuracy, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
* Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
* Educate patients on proper eyewear care and usage.
* Handle administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing inventory.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of laboratory processes related to optics is advantageous.
* A basic understanding of anatomy related to the eye will be beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
* Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are essential.
