I am looking for a Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver for my client based in Welwyn Garden City, this is a temporary position leading to a permanent position for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, by hand or with a forklift truck.
Checking for damaged or missing items and then sorting stock for storage in the warehouse.
Taking goods to the appropriate storage space using loading and lifting gear for heavy goods.
Keeping a careful record of the stock, so that it can be located quickly.
Operating a forklift truck to move and rearrange stock and ensure that products are stored safely.
Picking orders from the storage space and bringing them for packing to the loading bay for transportation.
Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse will also be part of the daily routine.
Cleaning and maintaining the company's products will be a major part of your role.
With heavy equipment in operation warehouses can be dangerous places, so following workplace health and safety rules will be essential.
Carry out stock counts as and when required
Keep paperwork up to date
Handle any hazardous materials in an appropriate manner
Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operation efficiency
Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value
Monday to Friday 08.00-17.00 and overtime available at peak times of year
