Paediatric Psychological Therapist

Are you interested in the link between physical and emotional health? Would you like to work with paediatric patients (from birth to 18 years old) and their families who are finding that their physical health problems are affecting their psychological well‑being? We are inviting applications to a permanent Band 7 post in our Paediatric Psychological Therapies team, part of the Paediatric service at Basildon Hospital within the Mid & South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.
Main duties of the job
We are a unique and vibrant hospital‑based multidisciplinary team which includes Psychotherapists, Child and Adolescent Psychotherapists, Counsellors, Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Art Therapists, Music Therapists, Mental Health Liaison staff and Administrators.
You will work across a broad range of paediatric patient groups, such as Neonatal, Type 1 Diabetes and Oncology, working with both inpatients and outpatients and their families. In addition, the post holder will support staff through reflective practice.

The role requires a fully accredited and qualified candidate able to work independently and as part of a supportive team, with a displayed interest in the link between physical and psychological health.
Person Specification
* Clinical Master’s Degree/Clinical Doctorate in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy, Clinical or Counselling Psychology, or equivalent (Level 7 clinical qualification)
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council or equivalent (UKPC, ACP or BACP)
* Appropriate demonstrable clinical child and family experience
* Experience of working in a hospital setting
