Overview
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop Stores Ltd, a subsidiary of Tesco. In a fast paced retail environment, you will be working where no day is the same and play an important role in day-to-day store operations by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. The customer is at the heart of everything we do, so you will continuously look for ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, the store will remain a safe place to work and shop.
About the role
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop. You will work across a range of store activities to meet the needs of our customers, including customer service, tills, replenishment, online support, vending, and stock routines. You will help ensure tasks are completed safely and to the store’s standards, and you will contribute to a great, inclusive atmosphere through participation in seasonal, community and charity events.
Responsibilities
* I know my customers and serve them with passion and pride, delivering great natural service.
* I actively encourage customers to provide feedback on their shopping trip through the "have your say" survey.
* I work across all areas of the store to ensure tasks are completed to meet customer needs (online, tills, replenishment, vending, stock routines).
* Putting into practice the training I have received to ensure we work safely.
* Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events to create a welcoming atmosphere.
* Being knowledgeable about store performance and communicating what we need to do together to deliver profit.
* Living our values, following policies, and making everyone feel welcome.
* Clocking in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate pay.
* Keeping ourselves, colleagues and customers safe by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
* Following the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products to all customers.
* Responding quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts and explaining actions to customers.
* Maintaining a clean, tidy and organized store environment and keeping aisles clear.
* Occasionally running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
* Following all training to keep the store safe and compliant with regulations.
* If the store has a Post Office Local, duties will include day-to-day post office operations; a background check may be required, and you must pass to proceed with the role.
