This position is essential for the daily operation of the school, requiring prompt attention to detail and efficiency in managing all aspects of internal cleaning. Previous experience working in an education environment is desirable but not essential. Applicants should possess appropriate experience and qualifications that will allow them to work effectively within the role. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills which will allow them to engage with students, staff, parents and contractors. You will also be highly organised and able to manage your time effectively. Duties involve comprehensive cleaning tasks, including hovering corridors, classrooms, and stairs at appropriate times, and the removal of chewing gum. You will execute full cleaning of toilets and inspect and tidy student toilets after break and lunch (where relevant). The role includes the regular upkeep of all corridors, walls, and skirting boards, along with cleaning internal glazing and window ledges. Additional responsibilities involve carrying out extra cleaning of rooms during holiday periods and responding promptly and clearly to emergency cleaning calls from academy staff. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, possess an understanding of academy child safeguarding procedures, and relate to students in a pleasant manner. While not essential, experience working in a cleaning environment is desirable.
