Job description:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Business Finance Controller to support the strategy of Schindler UK&I. Based at our Addlestone Office with a hybrid work model, this full-time, fixed-term role reports to the Head of Finance & Controlling. The role involves financial management, reporting, analysis, and maintaining robust controls to ensure clarity and integrity of financial data.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing the business P&L, cash flow, and balance sheet, ensuring compliance with IFRS and company standards
* Ensuring accurate financial records, managing month-end processes, and preparing forecasts
* Providing data for internal and external audits
* Maintaining balance sheet integrity and communicating risks and opportunities
* Controlling debt and collaborating with credit controllers to meet KPIs
* Analyzing business performance and providing insights with clear commentary
* Supporting business decisions through financial insights and challenging assumptions
* Serving as a subject matter expert in finance activities
* Collaborating with finance teams and supporting contractual and commercial negotiations
* Developing strategies to improve business performance, revenue, and cash flow
* Building strong relationships with stakeholders to foster positive outcomes
Candidate requirements:
* Extensive experience in financial controlling and management
* Proven ability to manage multiple objectives across multi-site and matrix organizations
* Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building capability
* Experience in process improvement and cost savings initiatives
* Familiarity with internal and statutory audits
* Minimum 7 years in finance with professional qualifications like CIMA or ACCA
* Proficiency in Excel; SAP and Power BI experience is advantageous
* Industry experience in construction, services, or related fields
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication and customer service skills
* Leadership skills to develop and lead teams
* Strong analytical, planning, and attention to detail skills
